To err is human. To leave a little mystery is intentional.

With so many patterns, messages, and techniques finding their way into my work, it probably isn’t surprising that a few of my prints and artworks have the occasional mistake.

Or are they mistakes?

Think about sending a message, especially a coded one. Throughout history, messages sent using Morse code or other ciphers depended on both the sender and receiver getting things just right. And yet, a small error didn’t necessarily destroy the message. Sometimes, it was simply part of the process. And sometimes, what appeared to be a mistake may have been intentional, a little something designed to confuse anyone trying to intercept it.

The same could be said for my work.

A small imperfection doesn’t erase the message. In fact, it may become part of the story.

I’m sure by now you’d love me to point out exactly where the mistakes are. But that would be far too easy.

Besides, as I notice them, I’ve corrected a few. Which means the originals, with their little mysteries still intact, have become even more unusual, and perhaps, a little more collectible.

So, if you find something that looks like a mistake…

Maybe it is.

Maybe it isn’t.

I am only human, after all.
