PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Design Pool LLC - Founder / Designer 2019 - present
Design Pool is the first image library dedicated to commercial and residential interiors, offering custom coloring and bespoke design services. The platform provides flexible licensing options, including full licensing and one-time purchases, and has established strategic relationships with digital printers across the United States to support seamless production. Design Pool has created over 1,000 original images, and its designs have been purchased for and featured on floor mats, wallpaper, and wallcoverings, vinyl flooring, privacy screens, acoustical tiles, and acoustic wall systems. The company has also consulted for industry partners, including Decorator Industries, Graphic Image Flooring, Kwickscreen, LDI Interiors and Let's Gel.

Pattern Pod LLC – Co-Founder / Designer 2013 - 2019
Co-founded Pattern Pod, a textile consulting firm partnering with commercial jobbers and OEMs to develop original design collections for clients, including Douglass Industries, Pallas Textiles, Kwickscreen, Let's Gel, and LDI Interiors. The firm provided end-to-end services spanning trend and market research, design development, and custom color programs, including applications for molded plastic seating, while working closely with textile mills to efficiently produce and accelerate new collections.

True Textiles (formerly Interface Fabric) – Sr. Director of Design 2008 – 2013
Accepted the Sr. Director of Design position in the spring of 2008, and was appointed to manage Development and Teknit in the fall of 2009. Effectively managing a group of 29 colleagues in design (woven and knit) and development in four different locations. Responsible for three markets (contract, healthcare, and hospitality) and five product lines (upholstery, panel, privacy curtains, top of the bed, and wallcovering). Established the yearly plan and budget for the team, determining the aesthetics and constructions to develop and promote. Worked closely with sales, planning, and production to ensure a quality product that meets our customers' needs as well as our internal needs. Maintain relationships with customers such as Herman Miller, Steelcase, Maharam, Knoll, and Arc Com.

Interface Fabric – Sr. Design and Development Automotive 2004 – 2008
Facilitated the initiation of the Automotive Division within Interface Fabric. Determined yarns, constructions, and color libraries in order to build a quality automotive upholstery product. Made the initial connections with the OEM and Tier 1 designers and creatively stayed in touch with them via e-mail newsletter. Performed the function as sales and marketing, promoting our sustainable fabrics and the company as a viable solution to automotive fabrics.

Victor Innovatex – Sr. Designer 2002 – 2004
Located at the mill in Quebec, I worked closely with the design group in New York, supporting their construction development. Worked on new designs and construction duplications. Learned circular knit design and worked closely with the manufacturer to develop innovative knit designs for the contract upholstery market.

Guilford of Maine – Director of Special Projects 2000 – 2002
Responsible for the development group, managing eleven colleagues. Worked closely with the design group in Grand Rapids, as well as Sales and Marketing. Involved in strategic planning and the implementation of quality systems for the Office Furniture Industry. Primarily a fabric panel company, and assisted in growing the upholstery business.

Collins & Aikman – Advanced Design Manager 1996 - 2000
Entered the company as a Woven Fabric Designer, advanced to the Technical Design Manager, and later promoted to Advanced Development Manager. Responsible for a small group of colleagues managing the woven side of the business. Developed and engineered all flat woven constructions for automotive upholstery. Worked closely with yarn vendors, meeting on a quarterly basis to discuss new opportunities and follow up on existing projects. Developed and presented new product concepts to OEM's and Tier 1 suppliers.

Guilford of Maine – Contract Designer 1992 – 1996
Designed patterns for office panel fabrics.
