Hi, I am Kristen. I am an artist and business owner. I received my BFA from Kansas City Art Institute and my MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art. I spent most of my career working at textile mills designing woven fabrics for commercial interiors. In 2019, I started Design Pool, the first online library of licensable designs for commercial and residential interiors. In 2020, I started Domanda Design, an online drop ship business using some of my favorite Design Pool patterns for home goods and accessories.

The majority of my career has been working in pattern repeat. I love the challenge of coming up with new ideas and working in a variety of aesthetics. For me, there is no separation between art and industry. My creativity is fed by both, working between extreme restrictions and boundless opportunities.

When I am not creating art for shows or for my business, I spend my spare time learning Italian (Ciao!), reading, natural yarn dyeing, sewing, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Check out my journal for some of my latest adventures.
